Summer Road Trip Ideas from Cincinnati

Looking for an inexpensive and adventurous vacation? A road trip from Cincinnati is just the answer! There is a wide variety of places to see and things to do that is a day or two drive away. 

If you’re looking for a short road trip then Indianapolis and Columbus Ohio are only a two hour drive away. There is also the Indianapolis Zoo to check out or you can have a nice picnic at the White River State Park. 

Columbus is Ohio’s state capital that is stuffed full of fun activities like museums, gardens, galleries, and more. If you’re looking for some adrenaline check out Ohio’s Sandusky legendary Cedar Point Amusement park that is filled with fast rides and screaming roller coasters. If you’re more of an explorer, then the Ravenwood Castle is calling your name. It sits on top of a hill at the end of a gravel road that has a pub, dining hall, and library. If you’re looking for a longer road trip in any direction there are some popular places that are four to five hours away. You could reach Knoxville, Nashville, or go across the border into Ontario Canada. 

Knoxville is a great road trip for the summer, they have lots of different festivals to check out and enjoy. These festivals are always filled with good local food, arts/crafts, breweries, live music, and fun. Be sure to check out their events calendar to see if any spike interest. 

If you want to check out Nashville rather than Knoxville then you’re in for historical sites mixed with new hot spots; there is something for everyone. You must go and see the Country Music Hall of Fame before leaving. Hop on the Nashville Showboat for lunch or dinner while cruising around the water. Since it is, Nashville you should stop and see a local artist’s show who is trying to make it big in the music industry; you never know who you’ll meet.
