New Year, New Issues: planning ahead for 2021

So long, 2020! It’s normal to look back nostalgically at the year we’ve had, but with the civil unrest, western wildfires, threat of killer hornets, and of course, the pandemic, 2020 was not the kind of year that you stay tender to. So goodbye, 2020, and good riddance!

2021 will have plenty of challenges for us. There’s hope on the horizon now that a vaccine to COVID-19 has been approved, but with the economy in rough shape and so many out of work and/or homeless in the ensuing closedowns, the future is an undiscovered country that might be just as bad as the previous year.

But the important thing now is to plan for 2021, and make the safe bets. Pay attention to what’s on the horizon… what to do about your kids if they are about to graduate into this situation… how to prepare for whatever bad shocks might come without living in fear.

Your vehicle is one element that should not be giving you anxiety. You are likely driving it less than previous years, but may also be taking it less for scheduled maintenance and curious noises that come out, out of concern for the cost at this stressful time. 

But remember that the important element in defeating a problem is to admit that it exists. Don’t live in uncertainty, no knowing how bad the problem is.
